A breath of absolute grace blows through the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception in Bangui. For three intense weeks, young people were placed at the heart of the Church, passing through the major stages of Christian life.
The spiritual marathon kicked off on Pentecost Sunday with Cardinal Dieudonné Nzapalinga's confirmation of numerous young people. The following Sundays, May 31st and June 7th, the fervor remained undiminished. Under the direction of the Cathedral's parish priest, Father Mathieu Bondobo, assisted by his vicars C. Angbaga and JM Konde, hundreds of children and young people received baptism and first communion.
Now all eyes are on Sunday, June 14, 2026. The cathedral is preparing to welcome a huge crowd of distinguished guests for a historic event: the episcopal ordination of Bishop Joseph Samedi as coadjutor archbishop of Bangui.
A fitting adage : Faith shared in a community is a source that never runs dry.
