His Eminence Fridolin Cardinal AMBONGO, ofm cap., arrived in the morning of Tuesday, April 2, 2024 in Gemena, in the diocese of Molegbe, which is his diocese of origin. He is there for the following purposes:
1. Family visit: a few months ago, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Kinshasa had lost four members of his biological family. This is why he found this time to go and say a requiem mass in their memory in his native village Boto in the territory of Kungu, province of Sud-Ubangi (DRC).
2. Thirtieth Jubilee of the Custody of the Friars Minor Capuchin, which will take place on Sunday April 7, 2024 in Bwamanda, where its original parish is located.
3. Five years after his creation by the Holy Father as Cardinal, he comes for the pastoral visit to his diocese of origin. On this occasion, he will celebrate a mass, next Monday, April 8, 2024 with all the Christianity of four parishes of Gemena.
