A sea of jubilant women and a surge of spiritual fervor brought a grand event to a close at Notre Dame du Congo Cathedral. From August 3rd to 8th, 2026, the Archdiocese of Kinshasa resonated with the jubilee of the Catholic Mothers' Movement. To crown the 40th anniversary of this pillar of faith, Cardinal Fridolin Ambongo presided over a magnificent Mass of Thanksgiving.
In his pastoral zeal, the metropolitan archbishop addressed consciences regarding the prophetic role of mothers at the heart of the family, the Church, and society. The prelate entrusted the movement with two major challenges for the future: the transmission of faith through the formation of young women in dignity and Christian values, and the evangelization of the digital world. Echoing the Pope's instructions, he urged mothers to transform phones and online platforms into instruments of peace, far removed from rumors and discord.
This jubilee, themed around 40 years of expertise and knowledge transmission, brought together mothers from Kinshasa, the interior of the DRC, and the diaspora. Addressing the divisions, the pastor reminded them that love must be the guiding principle for building a united society. The mothers left filled with grace, ready to prepare for the nation's future.
A fitting adage : the hand that cradles the child is the one that should guide their steps on the digital paths.
