Bishop Timothée Bodika presided over a solemn mass at Saint Francis Xavier Cathedral.

KIKWIT – A page of history was written for the local Church. On Thursday, July 16, the Saint Francis Xavier Cathedral in Kikwit became the focal point of great popular and religious fervor. His Excellency Bishop Timothée Bodika, Bishop of the diocese, presided over a solemn Mass of Thanksgiving to honor consecrated life.

Seventy-five years of devotion and faith

The event was of major importance to the Christian community. The diocese celebrated the 75th anniversary of the presence and work of the Sisters of Providence of Champion and of the Immaculate Conception. This commemoration coincided with the jubilee of religious life for several sisters. The assembly thus honored decades of sacrifice, teaching, and care for the local population.

A large-scale ecclesiastical mobilization

The cathedral was packed for this triple jubilee. Priests, monks, nuns, local authorities, and a vast crowd of faithful gathered around their Pastor. This Eucharistic celebration marked a powerful moment of communion. It highlighted the lasting impact of women's religious orders on the history and socio-spiritual development of the Diocese of Kikwit.

A fitting adage : seventy-five years of discreet fidelity trace the brightest path to eternity.
