We are celebrating the 19th Sunday in Ordinary Time. Today's Gospel begins with a word of consolation: "Do not be afraid, little flock." Many prophets throughout history have encouraged people in their misery by reassuring them of God's presence: Micah 7:14; Zechariah 3:11-18; Isaiah 41:8-14.

On this sixteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time, let us celebrate the mystery of salvation with all humility, sitting at the feet of Him through whom the promises of God the Father are fulfilled. He shows us the priceless glory of the mystery of salvation among all nations, and this in the hope of glory.
