16th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year A: Like a farmer awaiting his harvest, God is patient with our weaknesses. Good and evil coexist within us: let us not judge. Through the Holy Spirit who prays in our weariness, let us allow God to purify our hearts so that the community may grow in peace and hope.

The father, in the parable of this Fourth Sunday of Lent, exults with joy at the return of his lost son (15:24). This is the same attitude displayed by the shepherd who goes in search of a single lost sheep, leaving the other 99 (15:6) and by the woman who found the coin in her house (15:9).
