On the feast of the Assumption, let us remember these words used by Pope Pius XII when he defined the Catholic faith relating to this feast in 1950: "At the end of her earthly life, the Immaculate Mother of God was taken up in body and soul to the glory of heaven."

Our dear Mother is in Heaven. She lived on this planet where we constitute the visible Church. She is now alive with her Son in the invisible Church. On this day, let us strengthen our devotion to the one who never ceases to intercede for us.

On this day of Pentecost, we celebrate this marvelous gift that the Father gives us through his Son Jesus. The Holy Spirit reminds us of all that Christ said, so that we can proclaim it in turn. Every day the Church bathes us in the gifts of this Spirit through the various sacraments.

The celebration of the Chair of Saint Peter in the Church is a call confirming the foundation stone of the Church's faith which is based on Jesus Christ, Son of God; it also reminds us of the place occupied by Saint Peter the Apostle (with his successors) among the apostles.
