Saint Celerina and her companions belong to the group of early Christian martyrs from North Africa, the cradle of an ancient, vibrant Church, deeply marked by the witness of blood. Their memory is part of the great tradition of men and women who chose fidelity to Christ rather than compromise with idolatry.

Every year on September 16, the Catholic Church celebrates Saint Cornelius, pope and martyr, and Saint Cyprian, bishop of Carthage and martyr. These two iconic figures of the third century Christian era embody unity, perseverance, and faith in the face of Roman persecution.

Saint Monica was born in 332 in Thagaste (present-day Souk Ahras, Algeria). She is best known as the mother of Saint Augustine, one of the greatest Fathers of the Church. Her patience, unwavering faith, and unceasing prayers were instrumental in her son's conversion to Christianity.
