This January 6, 2025, the Church of Kinshasa and the DRC still remembers the second Cardinal of this great country. 18 years later, the memories are still vivid in the minds of the bishops, the consecrated and all the faithful. In this article we provide a short biography of Cardinal Etsou and succinct testimonies from Cardinal Ambongo (his successor) and Bishop Pwongo (his former chancellor).

His Eminence Cardinal Fridolin Ambongo invites all the faithful of the Archdiocese of Kinshasa to the Eucharist of the opening of the Holy Door which he will preside over this Sunday, December 29, 2024 at the Notre Dame du Congo Cathedral at 11:00 a.m., which Eucharist will be preceded by a pilgrimage starting from the avenue at 10:00 a.m. It should be noted that "people who participate in this jubilee and those who pass through the holy door during the year will receive the jubilee indulgence if they respect the conditions," wrote Cardinal AMBONGO.

After his pilgrimage to the Ngoukomba sanctuary in the Archdiocese of Bangui, His Excellency Monsignor Libère Pwongo, Bishop of Basankusu, quickly returned to his diocese to take communion with his faithful on December 16, the day of his first anniversary of episcopal ordination and taking canonical possession.
