Homélie de l'Année A #Moïse

Le Christ est le Rocher impénétrable devenu Source vive pour étancher nos déserts. De l’Exode à la Samaritaine, il nous appelle à délaisser nos « cinq maris » — nos fausses sécurités — pour l'amour de l’Esprit (Rm 5,5). Car, selon l'adage, « l’eau du rocher ne craint pas la sécheresse » : elle transforme nos soifs en une espérance qui ne déçoit jamais.

Sur le Thabor, Jésus nous révèle sa gloire : il est la Manne véritable qui soutient notre marche et la puissance de la foi qui transforme nos cœurs. Portés par l'adage « la patience soutient le toit de la gloire », marchons vers le pèlerinage en transfigurant, dès cette semaine, le visage d'un frère souffrant par un acte de charité concret.

Through his baptism, Jesus, the Word made flesh by the intervention of the Holy Spirit, covers us with grace so that we may hear his Father reveal to us: “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” Let us be witnesses to the baptism received on this Feast of the Baptism of our Lord Jesus.

Savor this wonder: "What was foretold by Isaiah (Isaiah 40:3) eight centuries before was fulfilled through the voice of John the Baptist. His ease was of no importance, for he was concerned with the inner peace of each soul. The gravity of his message shook his listeners to the point where the necessity of conversion became imperative. It is to us that this message of the Second Sunday of Advent is proclaimed today: "No ignorance should cloud our vision before the coming of the One who baptizes us in the Spirit and by fire; He is the Supreme Judge of history. Happy Sunday."
