VATICAN ET PAPE LEON XIV

The fifth World Day of Grandparents and the Elderly will be celebrated on July 27, 2025. On this occasion, Pope Leo XIV delivered his message from June 26, 2025 under the theme: “Blessed is he who has not lost hope” (cf. Sir 14:2).

Since the publication of the Encyclical Laudato Si by Pope Francis on May 24, 2025, a World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation has been declared. This year, 2025, the Church will celebrate the tenth. Pope Leo delivered a message to this effect.

In his role as pastor and head of state, the Pope has great influence on the universal level. He is open to politicians, whom he constantly urges for world peace. He intervenes as pontiff in several diplomatic problems to suggest solutions that honor human dignity.

The Pope invites the entire world to entrust itself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, especially during this month dedicated to Him, to alleviate the suffering of the world. Let us not forget that the Pope counts on our prayers for the Church to continue its mission.

As is customary, the Pope's agenda never remains empty. It is always filled with several activities. We suggest some of the many activities that Pope Leo has carried out at the beginning of June 2025. Please feel free to suggest and comment.

Since his election as head of the Church, Pope Leo XIV has made several important appointments. Here are four of them for May 2025.

Le Pape Léon XIV a ouvert aujourd'hui la catéchèse publique pendant sa première audience générale depuis la dernière sous le Pape François le 16 avril 2025. Le Pape Léon poursuit le thème de Jésus notre espérance abordé par son prédécesseur le 18 décembre 2024. C'est sur la parabole du semeur que sa méditation s'est basée (cf. Mt 13, 1-17).

Plus de 200 000 fidèles ont participé à la célébration eucharistique pour le début du ministère pétrinien de l’évêque de Rome Léon XIV à la place Saint-Pierre ce dimanche 18 mai 2025.

Upon his first outing on May 8, Pope Leo XIV wished peace to the entire world with the blessing urbi et orbi. After this encounter with humanity, the Holy Father began his work with Masses, speeches, and meetings. Here are his activities for the first week of his pontificate, from May 9 to 15, 2025.

On Wednesday, May 7, 2025, a Mass Pro eligendo romano pontifice was celebrated at St. Peter's Basilica, which opens the conclave. The 133 cardinals will lock themselves in the Apostolic Palace today at 3:45 p.m. to leave after a pope is elected there.
