En y célébrant une messe pour la réconciliation et en rencontrant les victimes, il s'imposera comme un médiateur de paix, bravant les défis sécuritaires pour appeler au dialogue et au réconfort des populations.

Marquée par une visite historique à Monaco le 28 mars pour dénoncer « l’idolâtrie de l’argent », la semaine du Pape Léon XIV s'est achevée ce dimanche 29 mars par l'ouverture de la Semaine sainte. Entre ses audiences diplomatiques au Vatican et la célébration des Rameaux, il a lancé un appel vibrant au cessez-le-feu mondial, présentant le Christ comme le seul rempart face à la violence du monde.

Le pape Léon XIV a nommé Mgr Javier Herrera Corona, déjà représentant du Saint-Siège en Algérie, nonce apostolique en Tunisie le 16 février 2026. Cette nomination vise à unifier l'action pontificale au Maghreb pour stabiliser les relations diplomatiques, protéger les minorités chrétiennes et préparer une visite papale.
