It was on January 17, 2024 that His Holiness Pope Francis appointed a bishop to head the Diocese of Wamba in the DRC. The opportunity, according to the established calendar, arose for Monsignor Emmanuel Ngona to be invested with the episcopate and lead the Diocese of Wamba as his own pastor. September 15, 2024 turned out to be a great day for the universal Church and particularly for the Church of Wamba, which for several months has been without a diocesan bishop.

During the homily delivered by Monsignor Ernest Gboko, Archbishop of Bandaka-Bikoro, the people of God were invited to the hope of the Resurrection in faith in Jesus our Lord. Before the absolutions by Cardinal Ambongo, the speeches were given by the biological family of Monsignor Bulamatari, by the confreres of his priestly promotion (Bishop Makamba and Father Lukelo), by Father Georges Kalenga on behalf of the President of CENCO, by Monsignor José-Bernard Likolo, Bishop of Lisala and Apostolic Administrator of Molegbe and at the end by Cardinal Fridolin Ambongo, Archbishop of Kinshasa.
