First day of Session in Nyakasanza for priests working in the Diocese of Bunia. " Judicial Pastoral Care in the Church " is the main theme of the Session. It all began at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, with the prayer intoned by HE Bishop Dieudonné Uringi , who immediately afterward delivered the opening remarks.
Speaking, Father Célestin Tshimbundu , President of the Ecclesiastical Tribunal of the Ecclesiastical Province of Kisangani , gave the detailed program of the meeting, planned for 3 days.
For the first day, two presentations took place, each time followed by very enriching debates: In the morning, Father François Gbaku Moke , Trainer at the Saint Cyprien Theologate of Bunia spoke about parish administration, drawing deep inspiration from the Code of Canon Law , the Law of the Catholic Church. Administration, legal acts, parish registers, the responsibilities of sanctifying, teaching and governing are some of the points that filled the morning's interventions.
The afternoon presentation was led by Father Dieudonné Ngona Mugharua, Director of the Saint John Paul II Diocesan Pastoral Centre in Bunia. The topic discussed was general and specific administrative acts. Who can carry out these acts, and under what conditions, so that they are correct and do not infringe on the rights of others, were some of the issues that were debated.
Let us recall that the sessions of this capacity building session for priests in judicial matters are scheduled from Tuesday 27 to Thursday 29 May 2024 in Nyakasanza, under the high patronage of HE Mgr Dieudonné Uringi, Bishop of Bunia.
