Good Friday: The courage to stay with the suffering Jesus

In the Passion of Christ according to Saint John, there is a remarkable revelation of the divine nature of the Son. Yet he learned to obey in order to bring salvation. His suffering had no meaning for those around him. He was a mere condemned man. But Christ takes the destiny of humanity into his own hands with complete lucidity.

This book published in L'Harmattan is a manual of ongoing formation on the liturgy for all the faithful. In his own words the author declares: Despite the vitality of our churches, the author aspires to a deep evangelization. Indeed, the call to synodality of the whole Church reveals cracks in the life of Christ's faithful, in particular their participation in the Holy Mysteries without knowing for some the true meaning. To deepen the faith of the faithful and their maturity in the understanding of the rites, their ongoing formation is essential.

When we are born, we discover nature. It is nature that welcomes us. And we ourselves are part of this nature while having authority over it. From the beginning, God said: "fill the earth and dominate it." cf. Gen 1:28. Despite the depth and the firmament that surround man, the latter remains responsible for what happens there because he has received a mandate from the Creator. This is why he tramples everywhere to prove his domination. Man, through his scientific curiosity, has gone underground, dived into deep waters, walked on the moon, explored wild forests, climbed high mountains. Nature, through his research, is no longer foreign to him.

It takes a politician “in trousers” to do this, it takes courage… Women. Women have the right to life: to their life, to the life of their children. Let us not forget to say this: an abortion is murder. Science says that one month after conception, all the organs are already there. You kill a human being, you kill a human being. And the doctors who lend themselves to this are – let me say – they are hired killers.”
